A heavy equipment operator and certified welder by trade
a master cabinetmaker by choice, Tom enjoyed fishing
(telling fish stories), but racing was his passion.  Racing was
in his blood, second only to his wife Teresa and son James

Tom comes froma family of racing drivers, grandfather Dennie; father Dick who

raced BCRA midgets in the pre-roll cage years of the late 50's & 60's and super

modifieds at   West Capital Raceway.  Uncle Art raced NARC sprint cars for many

years and Cousin Glen is currently racing 360 Sprints

With a long time family history of racing.  Tom's interest in racing was a natural beginning

with go-karts at the age of 13.  He ran pavement for 4-5 years, then switched to speedway

dirt for three years.   In 1992, Tom and his Dad went modified midget racing, moving up to

BCRA midget lites.   He won a Watsonville Speedway feature event and finished 5th in

driver points in 1994.   In 1995 , Tom backed up his performance with a close second

place finish in BCRA midget lite driver points and won the car owner's championship

by one point claiming feature wins at Placerville and Marysville.

In 1996, Tom ran a full size Gary Bullfinch midget in a limited BCRA schedule

and finished a respectable 14th in season ending driver points.

It was in the summer of 1993, when Tom was temporarily out of work, that he
made an agreement to build the present grandstands at Prairie City SVRA
in exchange for free racing the following season.  He did an outstanding job almost
entirely by himself in the Sacramento 100+ summer heat.

It is for Tom's tremendous
support of racing and his
dedicated determination
to raise these grandstands,
Prarie City SVRA Speedway
dedicates these stands in
Tom Boune's name

"TOM BOUNE MEMORIALGRANDSTANDS"

Tom is survived by his loving wife, Teresa and his son, James.

TOM, you will forever be remembered and LOVED by those who you touched.
