Cazadero Back Roads:  Definition & Mapping
GVSNarrowBarGIF.gif (7411 bytes)

Cazadero, the "Village" situated in Northwest Sonoma County, is a small town built on the hillsides along either side of Austin Creek, including Cazadero Highway and Austin Creek Road and their side streets and surrounds.   However "Cazadero" is perceived to encompass a much broader area, in general, it lies in the coastal hills and high ridges above the village.

Cazadero Back Roads are outlined, roughly, by the following; Heading north from Hwy. 116 on Cazadero Hwy. to Cazadero (as described above), up into the hills and high ridges along Forty Ross and King Ridge Roads (geographically the high ridges are known as the "Mendocino Highlands")

Both Sea View Road and King Ridge Road lead eventually to Tin Barn Road which heads northerly to Stewarts Point Road.  Stewarts Point/Skaggs Spring Road traverses a short easterly run to Annapolis Road which takes you west, eventually to the coast at Sea Ranch.

Some notable roadways not mentioned along and within this perimeter are Houser Bridge Bohan Dillon, Plantation, and Neistrath.  All the lands along and between these roads comprise what is referred to here as "Cazadero Back Roads North".

The below maps provide an overview and feel for the defined area.

The interactive maps linked to this site are superior for locating specific locations, features and individual roadways.

The map to the left provides a sense of the topography of the area and also has numerous points of interest referenced.

The map to the right provides many more details as to geographic features, paved and dirt/rock roads etc.   Return to Cazadero Back Roads for more map links.

Planning to spend time in the area and want thorough and useful maps?  You might consider acquiring a Thomas Bros. Map (at Costco & office supply houses) and/or the Northern California Atlas and Gazetteer by Delorme Mapping Company (Marin Outdoors etc.).

The Thomas Bros. map is especially helpful if you are considering Real Estate, all MLS property locations are referenced by Thomas Bros. Maps.   The Delorme is most helpful for planning outdoor excursions with geographic features and helpful guides.  You may also link with the Sonoma County Earthquake/Fault Line Map <Click, here!
