Afghanistan:
The Kabul Museum (A virtual museum) ~ For thousands of years, Afghanistan was a crossroad for trade from India, Iran, and Central Asia. As a result, many treasures and artifacts have been discovered and collected. The Kabul Museum, housed the most comprehensive record of Central Asian history. Many of its pieces have been dated as far back as pre-historic times.  These treasures and many other were tragically lost when the Kabul Museum was bombed in 1993.  Despite attempts to retrieve the stolen artifacts, only 52 pieces have been recovered.

The Purpose of this website, is to help others enjoy the contents of the Kabul Museum prior to its destruction. It is important to remember our rich cultural heritage. We feel that Afghans need to have a link to their past. It is our deepest hope that the beautiful treasures of our country can one day be found and returned to their rightful home.

Fundació Gala - Salvador Dali ~ Visit the three locations, Figures, Púbol and the Museum-House in Portilligat.  The Foundation manages various collections of works by Salvador Dalí, a unique compilation in terms of quantity, scope and depth. The entire collection is composed of thousands of objects dating from all the different periods of Dalí's life, and more than 4,000 works of art reflecting an enormous diversity of techniques, materials and media: paintings, drawings, sculptures, engravings, installations, jewelry, holograms, photography and so on. A large proportion of the work is permanently on show at the Dalí Theatre-Museum, whilst another part of the collection permits the arranging of temporary exhibitions in the museum itself and at other locations, both within the framework of projects organized by the Foundation and otherwise on loan to other institutions around the world.

SIDEBAR:  An animated film, a collaboration between Dali and Walt Disney, Destino,  is currently touring film festivals around the world (Annecy Animation Festival, Melbourne International Film Festival etc.) and is scheduled to be shown at "Dali 2004", a Spanish exhibit celebrating the 100-year anniversary of Dalí's birth.  An intellectual article about Mr. Dali, from the University of Oregon sheds some interesting light on him.
